Fire Protection Upgrades to Make Before New Tenants Move In

When tenants move into a new building, they expect the conditions to be safe. There need to be certain systems in place that protect tenants from unexpected accidents. Each commercial building should have working alarms, sprinklers, or both. If there’s a fire pump, it needs to be inspected ahead of time. Here are some fire protection upgrades to make before new tenants move in.

Alarms and Sprinklers

You can’t let new tenants move into your building before checking the fire alarms and sprinklers. Functioning alarms need to be placed in certain areas of the rental space to protect your tenants’ safety, health, and property, as well as the property that you own.

Fire Pump Maintenance

If you have a fire pump as well as a sprinkler system in your building, you should know how the fire pump works. The fire pump adds pressure or volume to your sprinkler system in order to suppress or control the fire as soon as possible. Have your fire pump maintained regularly so you know that your sprinkler system is in working order. Be sure to do this before your tenants move into the rental space so you have your bases covered right away.
